Welcome to our booking page!

The Fashion Rebellion programme teaches budding makers to confidently use a sewing machine to make their own super-cool, upcycled items from unwanted textiles.

Sewing promotes dexterity, co-ordination, focus & concentration, boosts self-esteem, empowers and normalises a reuse and remake attitude.

Course creator Amanda Riley is a sustainable designer with a deep love for the planet and teaching life-skills to future generations. She has taught more than 3000 workshops for 8-16’s.We start with all of the sewing machines basics. Children work through the child-friendly course learning new skills & techniques with each eco-project.

We begin with smaller projects & take home multiple items each term. For those returning you’ll continue your journey with more complex projects.

The sessions are sometimes supported by Amanda’s own short clear video tutorials which help each pupil learn at their own pace. Teaching 8 beginners on sewing machines is like trying to teach 8 beginners on 8 pianos at once (all at different stages of various projects) so occasional video support provides visual learning demonstrations for the child's particular project when needed & helps them to advance at a quicker pace.

Sessions are for children aged 8+ years
